Getting There

Someday I will live in an old farm house, with a wood cookstove in my kitchen, and hand-powered water pump in the yard. My herb garden will be just outside under the window. There will be chickens and ducks roaming the yard, and perhaps a goose or two. In the barn I'll have a couple sheep, a milk cow and several horses, maybe a few goats as well. My vegetable garden will be off to the side packed full of tasty produce. There will be a greenhouse nearby too. I'll have a small orchard, and grow mostly apples, maybe some cherries too. I'll have a slew of cats and a couple dogs too. someday.

I intend on someday having my own small family homestead, perhaps opening up my home to teach others self-sufficency. For now I will sastisfy myself with my small container gardens in the summertime, and planning and dreaming in the wintertime.
